Crash course networkbasics

At the department where I work, my collegues don't really know the network basics.

I discovered it when I had a discussion like (note there are no routers involved in the network we discussed!):

Coll: That was weird... the computers couldn't communicate with eachother.
Me: Explain... how did you config it?
Coll: Well... one system has IP-addres 192.168.0.10 and the other one 192.168.1.50, with subnet 255.255.255.0!
Me: Well... to be honest, that is quite normal...
Coll: Why?

So... I made a crashcourse with networkbasics. It covers the next topics:

What is communicating

Do you know something about the environment

One of my colleagues asked me, if I could find some stuff out about the environment and legislation around this subject, especially about rubbish dump.

So I start using my good friend Google and ended on a website of the dutch ministry of VROM. On their website there is a notice regarding European Environment policy (in dutch), this website helped me a lot. Especially I had the most fun on the abbreviations part. All the information I need was in the special subbish dump section.

I feel me a littlebit a environment rubbish dump legislation specialist....

What type of License

For the company I work for I have developed some tools. Although my company is not a softwarecompany I want to release these tools with an open-source license.

I personal think that the 'BSD License' or a 'Apache License'-look-a-like would be the best. But my boss has to decide. If I had my own company... it would be more easy to decide...
